This women wanted to rejuvenate her face, while adding contour to her jaw. After a thorough consultation, Dr. Binder and the patient felt that a facelift and a chin implant was the best way proceed. The first procedure, also known as a rhytidectomy, removes unwanted wrinkles and creases from the face, while tightening loose skin. A chin augmentation, on the other hand, adds contour to and enhances the size of the chin with implants. Within a week, most of the swelling and discoloration had subsided.
